David Angell has made a career of demystifying computers, telecommunications, and the Internet for millions of people worldwide. He is a computer-industry analyst, a journalist, and the author of twenty books on a wide range of technical topics for major publishers, including Addison Wesley, John Wiley, and IDG. His most recent books are the best selling DSL For Dummies and the Microsoft Office Word 2003 Bible. David has also contributed more than seventy-five articles for leading computer magazines, including PC Magazine, Internet World, and PC Week.
In 1999, David joined NorthPoint Communications, a national DSL CLEC. His charter as “DSL Evangelist” was to educate DSL subscriber communities, including small businesses, teleworkers, and consumers, about their broadband options and opportunities. David was also the spokesperson for NorthPoint’s national “Broadband Lifestyle” media tour, where he conducted more than seventy interviews in twenty-two major markets for television, radio, and print media, including such outlets as Bloomberg radio, ZDTV, Consumer Reports, Los Angeles Times Computer America Network, the Boston Globe, the Dallas MorningNews, and the San Jose Mercury. David also promoted leading ISP partners through a United Airlines in-flight video segment and by providing quotes for print advertisements in the daily newspapers of twenty cities. He also spoke at DSL sales events, technical conferences, and trade shows, including the Consumer Electronics Show.
David spent 5 years managing and writing technical collateral for an Internet security company in Silicon Valley. Currently, David writes technical and marketing collateral for the Mobility Platforms Group (MPG) at Intel in Oregon.
